This module explores medieval history through the study of material culture, both artefacts in museum collections (such as the British Museum and the Wellcome) and surviving medieval buildings in London (such as St Bartholomew the Great). Taking a thematic approach, it considers the principal social, political and cultural characteristics of the late Middle Ages (c.1000-1500).
