Course Description:

This course is designed to introduce students to the principles and methods of modeling and analyzing statically determined structures. The first part of the course introduces you to common structural types and design loads. It follows the basic concepts of modeling and analyzing force systems of statically determined structures such as beams, trusses, frames, and cables. The concept of the statically determined internal force and influence line of the flexural member is studied. Various methods of calculating the deflection of a statically determined structure are discussed later in this lecture.
