Physical mechanisms in plastic deformation: dislocations, slip systems Macroscopic elastoplastic behavior of metals: Phenomena under monotonic and cyclic loading Basic tensor algebra and continuum mechanics Mathematical theory of plasticity: Concept of yield surface, kinematic hardening, isotropic hardening, bounding surface plasticity Material symmetry: isotropy, anisotropy, anisotropic yield surfaces Plasticity modelling and implementation in FE analysis: Basic formulation, Abaqus models, UMAT Plasticity of 3D printed (additively manufactured) metals: additive manufacturing technologies and influence on microstructure, physical differences with conventional metals, anisotropy, mechanical properties under monotonic & cyclic loading, modelling considerations.
