This introductory statistics course is meant for students with a Calculus background. The goal is to provide a solid introduction to the theory of probability, random variables, probability distributions, and statistical inference. This course will cover topics such as descriptive statistics and graphical methods, probability and probability functions, random variables, discrete distributions (e.g., binomial, Poisson), continuous distributions (e.g., normal, uniform, exponential, chi-square), sampling distributions, least-square line (regression line) and sample correlation coefficient, fitting of models to real data sets, statistical inference (confidence intervals and testing of hypothesis), and more topics if time permits.
