Course Description:

Students will be introduced to a combination of technical topics (20 hours of lectures) and engineering skills (10 hours of lectures). The material will be supported by: seminars (10 hours) which will focus primarily on the technical topics; and workshops/lab sessions, which will allow the engineering skills to be practiced in the context of the technical topics.

The skills aspects of the course will focus on deepening knowledge and understanding of core skills that are relevant for all engineers (and other professionals) with EEE specific exercises.

This will include:
1. Engineering design iteration including visual representation;
2. Data analysis and interpretation including use of uncertainties and error analysis;
3. Technical writing including use of collecting information, information management, and data presentation.

The technical content will cover three core technical areas:
1. Introduction to DC and AC circuits;
2. Introduction to circuit analysis;
3. Introduction to diodes and digital logic.
