This module teaches the fundamentals of humidification, dehumidification, cooling and drying, and particle technology - including charaterisation of particle size, shape and size distribution, flow through packed beds and porous media.

With a focus on particle formation processes, solid-liquid separation processes, membrane separations and chromatography, it considers estimation of thermodynamic properties, design and analysis methodologies, and equipment design.
