Introduction to Fluid Mechanics. Basic characteristics of fluids. Hydrostatic pressure and its measurement. Forces exerted by a fluid at rest on both planar and curved submerged surfaces. Conservation of mass, energy and momentum in a moving fluid and applications. Laminar and turbulent flow in pipes. Moody chart and the Colebrook correlation. Pipeline systems.
