Course Description:

This module is divided into two parts and introduces students to Space Launch and In-Orbit Systems and corresponding technologies. In first part module focus is on earth orbiting satellites, the environment they operate-in and how they are controlled, with reference to satellite communication technologies, applications of earth orbiting satellites and the technologies behind this. In second part module will introduce past, current and future developments in technology used in space launch propulsion systems, in-orbit propulsion systems and power systems for spacecrafts. The lecturing topics will cover majority of relevant theories and practical applications related to the space vehicles launch phase, maneuvering and deep space missions.
