Course Description:

The past is all around us, in places, in monuments, in landscapes, cities, towns and villages. In this module, you will develop skills in ‘reading’ the historic landscape and evaluating how heritage sites and visitor attractions are managed for public benefits. Across three fieldtrips, you will engage with the historical and evidential significance of the sites visited, assess access, inclusivity, interpretation content, and attraction management.

You will deliver a professional-style ‘Desk-Based Assessment’ briefing paper in advance and produce a visual and textual fieldwork record of the visit.

Each year a range of different sites reflecting different aspects of Wales’s rich cultural history will be visited.
