Course Description:

The course provides the student with the methodology for the determination and discussion of the mathematical models of the dynamics of the aircraft, limited to the rigid body. It also illustrates the basic notions of the longitudinal and latero-directional aeromechanical characteristics of the aircraft with reference to the static and dynamic stability, with a treatment that refers to the linearized model. The course also aims to provide students with the tools to understand the fundamental problems of control of the aircraft, in fact, in addition to the study of the response of the aircraft to the command and atmospheric disturbance, the basics are given on the topics of the human-machine interface and flight quality. To achieve these goals, the student must acquire an in-depth knowledge of the specific calculation methodologies of flight mechanics. The exercises are carried out to give the student the opportunity to quantitatively evaluate what has been learned during the theoretical lessons. This course also aims to provide the student with the tools to use the international technical language in the specific field of Flight Mechanics.
